                FLAG SIGNALS

Passing Flag:  Allow faster cars behind you to pass.  This flag is only displayed to individual cars, as needed.

this lap.  (Pointed) The car pointed at, must exit track this lap and report to starter stand.

Red Flag: Slow down, pull over to the side of the track and come to a safe stop.  Typically means emergency vehicles
needed on track.

Always confirm all flag signals with track or event organizers before going out on track.

                SESSION RULES

1) Inexperienced drivers must have an instructor ride on track with them until deemed safe.

2) Drivers are placed in Run Groups based on driver and car ability.  Only cars in the same run group will be on the track at any given time.

3) Run groups drive on the track in timed sessions.  Typical sessions last 20 - 30 minutes.

4) Passing is only allowed in designated areas.  This areas are typically long straights.  All passing must be signaled with a Point Bye from the car being passed.

5) Any cars that put two or more tires off track (racing surface) must pit.  This gives the track officials time to evaluate car safety and driver state of mind.  If everything is OK, the car is allowed back onto track.

6) NO RACING or other irresponsible activities are allowed on track during open track events.

7) Drivers must remain restrained in their cars, unless informed otherwise by a track official, while on track or pit lane.

8) Only instructors can have passengers in their cars while on track.

Note, these are common rules for open track and high performance driving events.  These are listed here to give you a basic understanding of typical rules.  Individual tracks and event organizers have their own specific rules.
